What products does Meghan Markle use?

Meghan likes to keep her make-up relatively simple and natural, showcasing her gorgeous freckles and beauty marks in all their glory. She does, however, use a range of moisturising and nourishing facial care products to help keep her skin soft and clear. The result leaves her with flawlessly moisturised skin and minimal blemishes, making it easy for her to flaunt the natural look.

As part of her skin-care routine, Meghan uses an exfoliating foaming enzyme powder to get rid of dead skin cells.

When it comes to make-up, Meghan keeps a neutral colour palette. She loves to wear brown coloured eyeliner and nude matte lipstick. Instead of wearing a thick and heavy foundation which she believes can clog up her pores and cause impurities, The Duchess uses a natural brightening pen to cover any unwanted blemishes from day today. She compliments these natural tones with a blast of the lash sensational Diorshow Iconic Mascara, which is great for full volume lashes.

Does the Duchess of Sussex have a favourite skincare product?

With a background in acting and modelling and currently living in front of the spotlight as a famous English Duchess, Meghan has tried and tested tons of products over her time.

1. The Duchess of Sussex maintains a healthy diet

It is no secret that eating healthily and engaging in active exercise is one of the best ways to keep your skin and hair in optimal condition. Meghan Markle swears by her diet and strongly believes in eating a balanced and nutritious diet to keep her skin glowing. Here are some facts about Meghan Markle’s diet:

Meghan follows a plant-based diet

Meghan tries to follow a vegan diet as much as possible but is not super strict with it. She mentions how feeding her body more plants than meat and animal products has helped boost her energy whilst potentially keeping her from getting unwanted health issues.

She avoids processed food and cuts out excess sugars and fats as far as possible. Processed foods, sugars, salts and red meat contain high cholesterol as well as saturated fats, which are known to increase inflammation in the body, which in turn decreases our skins ability to create collagen (the main protein found in the body that helps strengthen bone, skin and cartilage).

She enjoys a hydrating green juice

As an afternoon pick me up, Markle avoids coffee and heads straight for her juicer! In a 2016 interview with Delish, the Duchess mentioned how she loves green juice with apple, kale, spinach, ginger and lemon to give her a boost of energy and hydrate her at the same time.

Markle likes to snack on brain food

Meghan loves food that gives her energy, such as fruit and nuts. In a report with Elite Daily in 2018, Markle mentioned that one of her favourite snacks is simply apple slices with almond butter and a sprinkling of sea salt.

She drinks kombucha for its probiotic benefits

When it comes to looking after her gut, Markle drinks fermented kombucha tea. This drink is packed with probiotics which boast a range of skincare benefits including preventing and treating certain skin conditions such as acne and dermatitis.

Water, water, water

Hydration is the key to clear and healthy skin, and Meghan knows it. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Meghan begins her day with a hot glass of water and freshly squeezed lemon juice. She tries to drink at least two litres of still water every day – no wonder her skin is so moisturised and blemish-free!

2. Meghan believes that exfoliation is essential for polished skin

Meghan swears by a mild and really subtle exfoliation, that gets rid of dry skin cells without scratching or being too harsh on her soft skin. The Tatcha Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder is no doubt one of the Duchess’s favourite beauty products, and she uses this Japanese rice bran exfoliator to clear her dead skin.

The Duchess mentioned in an interview with Allure that the rice powder “just sort of foams on your face and gives you a really subtle exfoliation”.

3. We should all embrace our freckles and beauty marks

As an advocate for gender equality and women’s rights, Markle encourages each and every individual to embrace themselves for what they are – beautiful and unique!

Luckily for her, she has a gorgeous fresh face complimented by trademark freckles, bold eyebrows and open eyes to do the job for her.

4. Meghan Markle prefers a natural makeup palette

In comparison to her glammed-up character on the award-winning show called Suits, Meghan sports a more natural look during day to day life, choosing nude make-up shades.

Her routine is so simple, she once referred to it during an interview with Allure as a “5-minute face”.

Markle’s favourite lip products

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

This nourishing lip treatment has a hint of colour and is available in an SPF 15 too. It’s Meghan’s go-to chapstick which she keeps on hand wherever she goes!

MAC Lip Pencil

Instead of bold red lipstick, Markle prefers to keep her lips as natural as her face. One of her staples is a simple MAC Lip Pencil in a nude pink colour, which gives her lips a bit of volume without screaming for too much attention!

The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria shade

HELLO Magazine mentioned that she even wore this lipstick and shade during her engagement photo shoot with Prince Harry.

5. The Duchess massages her face to encourage skill cell growth

One of Megan’s favourite beauty products is her Amuliss Face Roller. She uses this tool to ‘exercise’ her face and helps sculpt the shape of her jawline and cheekbones. The Duchess swears that massaging one’s face lets your skin look and feel fresh and young.

This tool works by stimulating the lymphatic system to help drain out the toxins in our skin.

6. Having smooth hair boosts her confidence

Aside from keeping her skin fresh, Markle asserts that looking after her hair helps her look and feel amazing.

According to Today.com, Markle’s hairstylist and makeup artist Lydia Sellers uses a deeply moisturising treatment by Kevin Murphy called Smooth Again on the Duchess’s hair.

When washing her hair on her own, Markle vouches for the Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax Anti-Frizz Masque to help her control her frizz.

One of her most favourite smelling products, Markle told Beauty Banter that the Welle Oil Reflections Luminous Smoothing Oil simultaneously makes her hair feel soft and smooth, making it almost impossible to tangle during a busy day out!

To keep her entire body feeling soft and moisturised, Markle uses the simple Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion which can be found in basic supermarkets across the world!

To help reduce and avoid wrinkles, Meghan uses the Kate Sommerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum which keeps her skin from feeling dry. This product is packed with retinol, which helps increase the production of collagen in the skin, as well as sodium hyaluronate which is known to draw moisture into one’s skin.

What other serum products does Meghan Markle use?

  • Decleor Aromessence Rose D’Orient Soothing Serum
  • Kate Sommerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum
  • Truskin Naturals Vitamin C Serum

9. The Duchess recommends using primer instead of a heavy foundation for everyday wear

Markle told Beauty Banter that instead of wearing a heavy foundation every day, she simply moisturises her fact and then applies a layer of Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance over her daily moisturiser. Markle reports that this primer gives her face a dewy look without making her look oily and shiny.

What foundation products does Meghan Markle use?

  • Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
  • Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat
  • Radiant Touch Concealer
  • Marcelle BB Cream
  • Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder

10. Always wash your face before bed

Thick and heavy stage make-up isn’t foreign to the Duchess of Sussex, who used to work as a Hollywood actress and still appears in front of international cameras on a daily basis. To clean her face of the thick foundations and products which come with the territory of being a famous television star, Markle uses Biore Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Cloths to wipe the products off her face.

In an interview with Beauty Banter, Markle mentions that this product is ideal for keeping next to your bed or in your car for those horribly lazy nights, to use when you need a quick cleanse without hitting the sink and unpacking the facial cleansers.

Without exception, Meghan cleanses her face before she heads to bed, and so should you!

11. Use a signature fragrance

Who doesn’t like to leave the house smelling delicious? It gives us the type of confidence we can’t easily describe and helps us to take on a day with a tall stride. Markle told HELLO Magazine that “Fragrance is my favourite thing, so much so that if I leave the house and I don’t put any on, I’ll turn around and go back home”.
